Post Treatment Care
After a gum graft, it's common to experience pain, bleeding, swelling, and seeping. Avoid touching the site, forcefully rinsing, or using a straw to promote healing. Bite on a gauze pad for 30 minutes to reduce bleeding. Use prescribed medications and mouth rinses as directed. After 24 hours, rinse with warm salt water, brush gently, and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Stay hydrated, avoid spicy foods, and don't smoke or drink alcohol. Limit physical activity for a few days. If there's a surgical bandage, leave it for 24 hours and gently clean the wound with a cotton swab.
